The Power of Song Inc. will provide music for the historic 150th birthday celebration of Mahatma Gandhi during Stanford University’s Ghandi-King Global Initiative. The event will include Martin Luther King III, Ghandi’s grandchildren and Sis. Helen Prejean.

Power of Song, Inc. CEO, September Penn will be teaming up with Illumine Playback Theater to facilitate an evening session of spiritual healing and awareness through song and theater. The session will entail practicing vibrational sound therapy and embodiment, body movement and expression, and playback theater prayers. The spiritual retreat is for the leadership team of Renovaré Fellowship of the Burning Heart. This is closed to the public.
The popular, acclaimed production returns to Southern California for its second year, with an array of community members as well as local, national and international artists who tell the stories of the songs that drove the Civil Rights Movement. The production is free to the public but tickets are required. The 2018 production will feature The Power of Song Music Contest, for which Pasadena students in K-12 can compete for cash prizes. The winner will open for the production.

The fourth installment of the acclaimed production returns to The Palladium Theater as the kick-off event for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service programs. The event is sponsored by St. Petersburg College and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service Advisory Board. It involves an array of community members as well as local, national and international artists who tell the stories of the songs that drove the Civil Rights Movement.

Cast members of Sounds of the Civil Rights Movement: The Power of Song will perform as part of the 100th Anniversary of the Pulitzer Prizes at The Palladium Theater in St. Petersburg, Fla. The March 31, 2016 production is the first of four marquee events that will take place across the country.

The event is part of The Power of Song's effort to educate the community about the Civil Rights Movement and social justice issues through song, theater and art.
This program honors the "Courageous 12," the dozen black St. Petersburg police officers who broke racial barriers when they filed a discrimination lawsuit 50 years ago. The event is at 5 p.m. at the Dr. Carter G. Woodson African American History Museum, 2240 Ninth Ave. S, St Petersburg. It is free and open to the public.
